This role is based at Innovation Lighthouse, a start-up initiated by The Student Hotel and partners. From the very first project openings in 2012, The Student Hotel had the ambition to create circular properties. Many of its hotels are developed in obsolete buildings to which it gave a new and sustainable purpose. As a part of this approach, The Student Hotel included innovative products and techniques that were tested in real-life situations and then implemented on a larger scale. With a growing portfolio of hospitality real estate, the ambition to create better buildings has also grown. TSH realized that it can have a much larger impact by sharing its "Lab" capability with other real estate owners and combine forces. Therefore, together with partners APG, Aermont & Redevco, the start-up Innovation Lighthouse (www.innovationlighthouse.org) was created.
Innovation Lighthouse selects and tests sustainability innovations in real buildings, so we can prove their business cases and measure their impacts. By sharing the results and the expertise we gain, we can help scale up innovations to our broad commercial real estate network. We are convinced that this collaborative approach will contribute to a commercial real estate sector that is truly socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. We will change the industry (and the world) for the better!
This is the role:
As the Innovation Manager, you are part of the core team that leads the change and makes the Innovation Lighthouse initiative successful! You will take a leading role in finding and screening new innovation partners, including start-ups, scale-ups, connectors, and incubators, to ensure a strong pipeline of cutting-edge projects from well-vetted innovators. You will be responsible for scouting new innovations and initiating, forming and maintaining innovation partner relationships.
