Sourcing Strategist - Development

Job description

Why you’ll love working here

We live in a world where everything is changing – from the way we travel to how we study, live and work. But one thing remains constant: our need to connect. We believe in creating a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can live, work, play and grow. How do we achieve it? Through our exceptional international team of lively, smart and motivated people that embrace the student spirit and bring it to life every day.

We have big plans. By 2023, we aim to have 65 locations across Europe. That’s 26,000 rooms and almost one million square metres of shared spaces. Beyond bricks and mortar, our new TSHLife app and digital platform is also ready to connect nearly a million current and former co-living and co-working guests.

In 2019, we’re in a phase of hyper growth. After opening 12 operational hotels in our scale-up phase, we’re evolving into an industry-leading company – redefining the concept of a hotel as the world knows it.

Why we need you

Procurement plays a crucial role in maintaining and elevating both customer service and consumer experience in all new and existing The Student Hotel (TSH) properties. That’s why we’re looking for a top-notch Sourcing Strategist to join our fast-growing HQ team based in Amsterdam.

In a high growth environment, we need to set up efficient supply chains, negotiate commercially attractive deals and create partnerships with suppliers that reflect our core values. Procurement also plays a big role in meeting TSH sustainability targets, by selecting suppliers that help us minimise our environmental impact – this is something extremely close to our hearts.

What you’ll be doing to make it happen

  • Create procurement category plans for development-related products and services (e.g. lighting and wall finishes, as well as big repeating components of construction works, such as elevators);
  • Execute category plans, lead selection processes, negotiate contracts, and manage suppliers and performance in relevant categories;
  • Enhance supply market expertise for the relevant categories;
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal TSH stakeholders;
  • Actively contribute to the professionalisation of procurement in general;
  • Report to the Procurement Director, with a dotted reporting line to the Procurement Manager – Development.

Requirements

Who are you?

  • 6+ years of procurement experience in the private sector;
  • Academic background with strong analytical skills;
  • International mindset, cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity;
  • Proactive, can do attitude; ability to deal with fast-changing environments;
  • A positive outlook and personality;
  • Language: English for oral and written communications, with additional languages preferred;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

What we offer

  • An amazing work place to come to every day where you will experience a great team environment with a fantastic vibe and lots of positive energy.
  • The opportunity to work at a dynamic, young, international organisation. We are a real game changer in the hospitality industry!
  • TSH cares and gives you access to facilities including a great canteen, gym opportunities and regular cool events.
  • Ready, set, grow! You will get the chance to learn and grow in your role (with the potential for growth within and across the company) and collaborate with other talented people who challenge you everyday.
