Why TSH rules

We live in a world where almost everything is always changing. The way we travel, study, live and work. People from all walks of life share the same passion: they love to connect! We believe in providing a fun, creative and inspiring environment where residents of all ages can live, work, play and grow. To achieve this we rely on an awesomely fun, smart and motivated team to embrace the student spirit and bring it to life. We believe in world peace and we aim to play our part in creating it!

In 2023 we aim to have 65 locations secured across Europe, 26,000 rooms and close to one million square meters of shared space. Our new TSHLIFE app and digital platform will connect nearly a million current and former co-living and co-working guests.

Biggest challenge and WHY do we need you?

You won’t be working at an ordinary legal department. Because of our rapid international expansion and ambitious growth plans we’ve got more going on than just the day-to-day legal business you would expect at a hotel company — there’s also an extensive range of other responsibilities.

The Legal, Compliance & Banking department (LC&B) is not only responsible for all legal affairs, but also takes care of legal matters related to acquisition and development of our new locations, obtaining and maintaining their financing as well as facilitating the operational and commercial success of our hotels. That’s the part where you come in!

What will you be doing to make that happen?

As the Legal Counsel, you’ll be responsible for the coordination of (international) operational and commercial deals, providing risk assessments on several legal topics and making sure that TSH remains compliant with local, national and international legislation. Within this framework your challenge will be to draft and review contracts with all sorts of suppliers and guests, work closely with (international) law firms on contracts, maintain the implementation of a compliance framework and make sure that we close all deals in a timely matter.

  • Provide legal support (including negotiating and drafting) on operational matters e.g. procurement agreements, lease agreements, sales and marketing agreements, General Terms and Conditions, etc.;
  • Advise on IP and IT matters including protection of the brand and GDPR related matters;
  • Support HQ and hotel teams on day-to-day legal issues (e.g. supplier agreements, guest requests, etc) and ad-hoc questions;
  • Engage, coordinate and manage (international) law firms;
  • Stay up-to-date with and implement new European and consumer legislation;
  • Maintain compliance with internal and external regulations, including AML, corporate housekeeping, tax structuring;
  • Develop legal templates to create a uniform TSH legal standard; Report directly to the General Counsel and work closely with all teams within TSH
