Why do we need you?

You lead by setting a stellar example, the kind of person who rolls up your sleeves and tackles tasks with a hands-on attitude. As Floor Supervisor, you manage, motivate and inspire your staff to aim for high standards. You are also responsible for monitoring labour costs, seeking out efficiency improvement and maintaining and improving service and product quality levels. You are approachable, accessible and, let’s face it, pretty charming to boot. People who work with you would describe you as warm and friendly. Guests feel comfortable enough around you to ask questions and engage in some light banter. You take responsibility for overall guest experience – and you are committed to making it memorable.

 

How do you contribute to this? How does a day at The Commons looks like?

  • Ensuring staff is fully up-to-date on latest food and drink offerings to stimulate upselling;
  • Managing servers during the shift;
  • Maintaining proper stock – timely ordering of supplies and ingredients to keep level up to par;
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing of shift;
  • Scheduling of staff according to business, staff needs and budget;
  • Administrating staff work hours;
  • Responsible for overall guest experience at the restaurant during the shift;
  • Monitoring accurate execution of HACCP guidelines, fire safety policy and working conditions.

Requirements

Background:

  • Minimum of 1-year’s relevant work experience in a supervisory or senior serving role at a similar restaurant;
  • HACCP certified;
  • Strong knowledge of wine and food according to market standards;
  • Excellent knowledge of restaurant service skills.
